Brandon’s Gym prides itself in giving the best instruction possible. Our mission is to train the proper techniques of kickboxing as well as getting in your cardio workout. Great for men and women of all ages and skill levels.
The warmup is crucial in preventing injury and getting your body ready for high intensity training! Expect jump roping, boxing footwork, jogging, and bear crawls and stretches. We like to incorporate some of our basic “grappling” warmup drills as exposure to our other programs.
We teach the proper way of performing each task: stance, footwork, jab, cross and hooks, as well as combinations.
Mitt work helps you visualize your target and helps you recognize when punches are being thrown at you. One person gloves up and the other wears “catching” mitts and calls out combinations. Each partner gets great training while working the mitts and moving like in an actual fight.
Bag work allows you to be on your own to practice your combinations. Working on a set clock allows you to punch and kick at your own pace.
In the later part of class, you can expect circuit training such as burpees, ab workouts, lunges, and much more to get your heart rate up.
As with any high intensity program, it’s important to cool down at the end, whether it’s a few laps around the gym or a light stretch.
